A £20 million Levelling Up bid for the Vale of Clwyd, under the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund programme, has now been ‘locked in’, triggering the start of the assessment process.
The Vale of Clwyd bid forms two cohesive projects targeting Town Centre Regeneration and Environmental Regeneration and, if successful, can bring significant benefits, and impact positively on the area.
Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies has been working closely with Denbighshire County Council throughout the application process.
He said:
“If this bid is successful, it will bring many welcome changes to local communities.
“I believe the projects within the application will support economic recovery, through regeneration and growth.
"It is clear to me it is a local priority to restore a sense of pride to Rhyl town centre, as the bid proposes.
“The positive change this can bring can result in new opportunities and jobs for local people.
"I also very much welcome the plans for Denbigh, Prestatyn, Bodelwyddan, and Rhuddlan, which would make a difference to the everyday life of many in these towns – facilitating the success of local businesses, and encouraging active travel and well-being.
“There has been much hard work put in to formulating this bid and I extend my thanks to all involved.
“I very much hope the bid is successful and have ensured Ministers are well aware of its merits. We await the outcome this autumn.”
